Andres Alegria was born to write! At only eight years old, he was given a writing assignment, and the rest is history. “I started writing this book while I was in third grade. We were assigned a school project to publish a book, and I liked making it so much that I decided to make more. The characters were inspired by my stuffed animals. The Little Green Pig was actually an Angry Birds Pig, Cynthia the Peacock was a Beanie Boo, and Gabriel the Rat was a brown, stuffed rat I got from IKEA.” Andres’s books have a fun, energetic feel with friendships at the core of each story. His goal? To create a series of whimsical adventures starring his creation, the Little Green Pig.
When Andres is not writing his next Little Green Pig adventure, he does what most young people do: play video games, explore theme parks, or wrestle with the two best dogs in the world—his huskies, Babyfox and Snowfox.
Andres’s follow-up to Little Green Pig Adventures: Dinosaur Danger! (¡Peligro Entre Dinosaurios!) finds Pig and his friends returning to visit their dinosaur friends when a mishap lands them on top of a glacier in the Ice Age instead. Little Green Pig Adventures: Frozen in Time (Congelados en el Tiempo) continues the wonderful English/Spanish combination so all readers can join Little Green Pig and his friends on their amazing adventures and polish their language skills while they do. Andres penned his creative tales for readers between 3rd and 6th grades, but his books are those everyone will enjoy.
